1926 Follmer Utility
This rare Canadian Beauty was built by Louis Follmer and Leo Tassier At Les Cheneaux in 1926. She has a 6'10" beam and a 23" draft and was built as a runabout then remodeled by Tassier in 1953 as a utility. The original power was provided by a 50HP Kermath. She now sports a Chrysler Marine 155HP that really moves her along! In 2005 she received a total comprehensive restoration sparing no expense. The gloss black hull sides are mirror like and her white stripped mahogany decks and interior are fabulous.

“I was so excited to see a modern picture of one of my great, great uncle's boats! Thank you for that opportunity!
My grandfather was actually born at Louis's marina in Cedarville (1933) during the depression, as Louis had enough business to employ his brother (my grandfather's father) and he helped keep the whole family "afloat" ( I know, stupid pun). About 10 years ago, we even took a family trip to visit the marina. I'm not sure if you knew this or not, but Louis was actually blind. And the fact that he has such a successful business despite his disability and the economic climate at the time, is somewhat of legacy in our family. Still today we have a lot of business owners in our family.
Thank you, Lauren!
