Photos taken in 2009 and 2022 by Steven Martini. Heather is a 1931 33-50 Runabout, one of two built. The original engine was a 425hp Gar Wood Liberty V-12 marine conversion. In the 1980s, a 1000hp Allison was installed and would do 70 mph+, but that engine was only in the boat for a year or so because the boat was difficult to control, and was too heavy. It was then powered by (and is to this day) a 600hp Curtiss D-12 V-12, marine converted by Vimalert.
